Jayrow Helicopters Rockhampton is a dynamic organization designed to support the EMS & SAR capability of the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS). In doing so, the Mission Statement for CHRS is; “To facilitate the ongoing development and operation of a world class aerial search and rescue service with full aero medical and counter-disaster capabilities in the Central Queensland region.” Jayrow Rockhampton assists with this mission statement by providing the helicopter, pilots and engineer needed to carry out the roles 24 hrs a day and 365 days a year.

At present, Jayrow Helicopters operates a single-pilot Sikorsky S76A++Helicopter capable of carrying two patients and/or five passengers a total of approximately 600km.

The medical fitout in the aircraft has been designed in consultation with the Queensland Ambulance Service to provide the most capable patient transfer vehicle available. All of this equipment can be removed from the aircraft in a relatively short time-frame to set the aircraft up for the SAR or fire fighting roles giving the aircraft greater fuel load and/or external load capability.

Jayrow Helicopters is committed to continuing its support to the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service by providing first class personnel and equipment to aid them in providing a world class service to the community of Central Queensland.
