During the expansion of helicopter operations throughout Australia and into the Antarctic with the Indian, French and Australian Governments in the 1990s, Jayrow began to identify suitable base facilities to support our diversified operations. Consequently Darwin was the ideal location to service, maintain and operate a wide range of helicopter activities.

Darwin has the largest turbine helicopter presence in the Northern Territory, comprising 9 helicopters, 6 supplying maintenance and support to Telstra in Darwin, Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs, Katherine, Jabiru and Kununurra in Western Australia. Full maintenance facilities are available on site in Darwin or full engine overhauls are carried out at our sister company, Australian Turbine Overhaul, in Melbourne.

Jayrow Helicopters caters for an extensive range of rotary wing services including aerial photography, a popular activity in Darwin and the Top End. Darwin sunsets are world renowned and we at Jayrow Helicopters are proud to put our name to many a flashy lightning display caught on film from the air.

The introduction of helicopter-assisted access to remote areas has been a hugely progressive movement for agriclultural spraying and seeding, mining and exploration, and the management of livestock and mosquito control. Various local government departments employ Jayrow Helicopters on short- and long-term contracts.

Refuelling is available at all locations, allowing for large contract work in remote areas to be comfortably carried out.

It is not all business though. The crew at Jayrow Helicopters encourage the public to try a flight and see for themselves the truly beautiful, though at times rugged countryside we live in. We are fortunate to be able to encompass a range of terrains in a short distance by helicopter. From the sparkling sea to inland waterfalls and abundant bidlife, the view will always be spectacular and our experienced pilots know just the places to go. An exhilarating experience is only a phone call away.

On the work front, Jayrow can assist to make even the hard jobs look easy. Pilots are individually trained to provide professional aid in heli-drilling, float and water landing, and the ever necessary sling operation.

All your helicopter requirements can be met by the dedicated staff at Jayrow Helicopters in Darwin. For enquiries or  bookings please refer to our Contact Directory.
